Feed your little one
Feeding and getting enough sleep are the main activities a newborn is involved in most. Feed them at least three feeds in a day.But pediatricians prescribe that it should be fed as frequent as they ask for milk.You can either breastfeed your little one or use formula milk. First consult your doctor on which feeding program is best for your little one. Breastfeeding till the age of 2 years and first six months exclusively is what WHO recommends.Breast milk ensure your child has the necessary nutrients for healthy growth and boosts their immunity.When breastfeeding in a public place, you can use a nursing cover to ensure your privacy.
A good resting place for your infant
Getting enough sleep is critical for children. Sleeps not only helps in relaxation in toddlers but is also vital to their growth.So don’t be worried if your newborn is always asleep for they can sleep for 18 hours in a day. Do not wonder; when will you ever have enough bonding hours with your child, for with time they will reduce the hours they spend sleeping. You should ensure there crib or cot is clean with a mosquito net and with enough bedding.
Ensuring they are clean
Ensure you bath your baby at least two times in a week to prevent them from smelling dirty.When cleaning them use a mild soap and some warm water. The room from which you are bathing your child should not be cold to avoid getting them sick. Apply some child oil to prevent damage to baby skin when dry. Dress them accordingly considering the weather.
Change diapers regularly
Do not purchase diapers in bulk till you have ascertained that it is the one suitable for your child for all babies are different.
A baby can need up to 10 diaper changes in a day. Change them in a span of every four hours or earlier. Rashes appear once a soiled one is in contact with baby skin for long hence reacting with the skin.
Burping once the baby is done with feeding is vital. Ensure you have a pediatrician contact who you can reach out to in case of an emergency.
